Fieldmates is a small, free farming game run by an independent developer. This page explains what information the game keeps, why, and what you can do about it. If you have any questions, email fieldmategame@gmail.com.

What we keep

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no ads or analytics services in the game. A few settings (such as sound on or off) are saved in your browser.

How we use it

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone except the services needed to run the game: the server host (Oracle Cloud), the email service (Gmail), Google Fonts (which supplies the game's lettering, so your browser fetches it from Google) and your browser's push service if you turn on alerts.

Backups and Google Drive

The game data is backed up every night to a Google Drive account that belongs to the game, so farms can be restored if something goes wrong. Backups are kept for 30 days. The backup tool only has access to the files it creates itself (the Google "drive.file" permission). It doesn't read any other Google Drive files and isn't used for anything else.

Fieldmates' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Other players

Other players can see your username, avatar, farm name, level, badges and your farm when they visit. Friends can see what you write to them, and everyone can see what you write in Town chat.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. To delete your account and farm, or to get a copy of your data, email fieldmategame@gmail.com from the address on your account (or tell us your username). We'll do it within 30 days. Deleted data disappears from backups as they expire, within 30 days.

Children

Fieldmates is meant for a general audience. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before playing and don't share personal details in chat.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and mention it in the game's "What's new" window.
